Lalibela Eco Trekking is a locally owned trekking and cultural travel company built around one idea: Ethiopia should be experienced, not just visited.
We organize journeys across the highlands, heritage sites, and rural landscapes with a focus on real routes, real people, and real conditions on the ground.
Founded in 2012 in Lalibela, now operating from Addis Ababa, the company began as a small guiding effort for travelers who wanted something beyond standard sightseeing.
Over time, that work expanded into structured trekking and cultural travel across northern Ethiopia — including remote highlands, village routes, and heritage corridors that are not part of typical tour circuits.
What remains unchanged is the approach: field-based guiding, not office-based tourism design.
We don’t treat Ethiopia as a checklist of destinations.

We’ve spent over a decade guiding travelers through mountains, villages, and heritage sites—refining routes through actual experience, not theory.
No fixed script. Each trek or tour adjusts based on your pace, interest, fitness level, and curiosity. Some travel fast. Some stop often. Both are valid.
We don’t treat culture as a display. We work with communities, follow local customs, and design experiences that respect daily life instead of interrupting it.
No middle layers. No confusion. You deal directly with the people organizing and guiding your trip—this keeps communication fast, clear, and accountable.
We manage logistics carefully—transport, timing, local coordination—but we don’t sell illusionary “perfect safety.” We manage reality properly.
