Day 01: Addis Ababa – Assela – Bale Goba
Depart Addis Ababa and drive southeast through fertile farmlands and highland scenery. As you approach Bale, the landscape changes dramatically, offering panoramic mountain views.
Overnight: Lodge or camping in Bale Goba
Day 02: Sanetti Plateau Exploration & Tullu Dimtu Area
Travel and trek across the Sanetti Plateau, characterized by wide-open alpine plains and dramatic skies. Walk toward the Tullu Dimtu area while observing unique flora and wildlife adapted to high-altitude conditions.
Overnight: Bale Goba (lodge or camp)
Day 03: Sof Omar Caves & Wabe Shebelle Gorge
Journey to the remarkable Sof Omar Caves, one of Africa’s largest underground cave networks. Continue to viewpoints overlooking the Wabe Shebelle Gorge, one of Ethiopia’s deepest river valleys.
Overnight: Bale Goba
Day 04: Bale Mountains – Awassa
Descend from the highlands toward the Rift Valley. Enjoy scenic drives through changing ecosystems before reaching Awassa, set beside a tranquil lake.
Overnight: Hotel in Awassa
Day 05: Lake Awassa Birdwatching & Leisure
Early morning walk along Lake Awassa, famous for its birdlife and lively fish market area. Observe pelicans, kingfishers, and other species before enjoying a relaxed afternoon.

Day 06: Abijatta–Shalla National Park – Ziway – Addis Ababa
Visit Abijatta–Shalla Lakes National Park, an important bird sanctuary and volcanic lake system. Stop in Ziway for lunch, then return to Addis Ababa.
